Why is it that so many people decide to move to a new place without finding out anything about their neighbors first? Very few people would consider moving to a property without checking out the location, the local facilities and the views first. Isn’t it just common sense to do some homework about the people in the area too? So who lives on my street? Lets find out.

It’s usually just after people move in that they start to think about who their neighbors are. You might think that it’s too late by then but I guess that it’s better late than never. If you watch a lot of TV shows you might think that all the people in the neighborhood will come and knock on your door and introduce themselves. I have a feeling that this doesn’t always happen in real life however.

Look up who lives on your street – Do it before you buy the place

At the same time that you are checking out the views, how close the nearest shops are and what kind of weather to expect, you should be checking out the people that live there too. Isn’t it the people that make a place? I’m sure that it isn’t all about the people for you but I bet that bad neighbors can turn your paradise into a nightmare very quickly.

Even if you have been living in the same place for years you may not know everyone on your street. Sometimes it can get awkward seeing the same faces when you are out and about, but you haven’t got a clue who these people are. When it gets to this point you might feel embarrassed to go up to them and ask for their name because you really should know them. At least you should know their name by now.

How do I find who lives on a particular street

You can use the old fashioned way of finding out who lives in your street. Get out there and knock on doors. It is still arguably the best way to do it because not only do you find out who they are, you can strike up a relationship with them at the same time. It can take some time because people are busy generally and you might need to do several trips to catch everyone in but it could be worth your trouble.

Walking the street is something that is best done once you have moved in. If you try and do it before you are established then you might find that you meet some suspicion and resistance from the neighbors. It’s not always very practical either, especially if you aren’t nearby. You shouldn’t leave it too long after you have moved in either. The longer you leave it the harder it can be. People expect you to do this just after moving in but not when you’ve been there several months.

How do I find who lives on a street easily and without raising suspicion

A few years ago, (or is it only months?) you wouldn’t have had any choice. You had to go and meet people if you wanted to learn who they are. You no longer have to do that if you don’t want to anymore. You can use the Internet instead. Is there anything that you can’t do on the Internet today? You are able to do it anytime from anywhere and no one needs to know so you can’t embarrass yourself.

A decent public records site is all you require to start compiling a list of people who live on a particular street. Just find one that will let you do lots of background checks with a low fee structure.

It’s funny how something like an email address can become so important in everyday life and yet it can be so difficult to find one sometimes. Almost everyone has an email address today. Well, at least most of the people that I know have one and I expect that you are the same. Sometimes, if you don’t know how to find someone’s email address it can be a nightmare. For some reason you can’t ask the person what their address is. Often it’s because that’s why you wanted to send them an email in the first place. You have no other way of contacting them.

When I get asked this question I usually send people to an online email tracer web site that collects emails for this very purpose. I find that this is always the best place to start because it can save you a lot of time but sometimes you need to try different approaches. The one I’m going to tell you about is how to use facebook to find email addresses.

Almost everyone has a Facebook account

Not all email addresses are that easy to find so it’s good to know about other ways that can help you to find them. One of my favorite methods is Facebook and I’m going to explain how you can find an email address using this very popular social networking web site.

I said earlier that that most people that I know have and email address. Well almost as many have FB accounts too and it’s possible to find people using the ‘Find Friend’ FB search feature. You have to have an account to do this but you might as well sign up if you haven’t already because most other people have done.

When you have created yourself a Facebook profile you can then click on the “Find Friends” link and type in the name of the person you are interested in into the search box. Clicking ‘People’ from the menu will show you members who match the name. You may well get a long list of people to choose from depending on how common the name is. Finding the right one can often be easy though because because most people have their photo uploaded.

When you have found the person that you are looking for you can then send them a private message by clicking the link by their name. The site will not show you persons email address but you can ask the person to send it to you in your message. Remember to be polite at all times when emailing and messaging people. You don’t want to offend anyone.

Facebook is good but it isn’t always the answer

With a little luck you may be able to find someone’s email address using this technique but it’s far from foolproof and it does take time. As I said most people seem to be on this social networking site but not everyone is. Also FB users users can opt to not receive messages from you. If they have done this then it will not be nearly as easy for you to contact them. If you find this to be the case and you can’t send your person a message, take a look at the profile of some of their friends. If one of them allows messages then you can ask them to forward your message to the person that you are interested in.

Have you lost someone’s email address? Are you trying to get in touch with someone by email but you never asked them for their address? You probably don’t have a telephone number or any other way of contacting them right?

This happens a lot. In fact it’s happened to me many times. Email is such a convenient way of communicating with people today whether you are friends, business acquaintances or even just people that you would like to get to know better. So how do I find someone’s email address when I find myself in this situation?

Save time by using a specialist email directory

This has happened to me many times before so the first thing that I do is go straight over to a specialist email finder web site because I know that it’s my best chance of finding the email address and it can save me a lot of time trying to find that address by other means. All you have to do is enter the name of the person and in no time you should have a list of possible addresses. You then just have to pick the one that you are looking for.

Unfortunately there is nowhere that you can go to find a list of every single email address ever used. There are just far too many of them and there is no such thing as compulsory registration to a central body or list. Sometimes even the specialist email tracers will not be able to locate the address for you.

How to guess an email address

If you don’t have any luck with the email tracer web site then there are several other methods that you can use to find someone’s email address. One of these methods is what I like to call “Guessing the email address”.

You can guess what the email address might be and then send a polite message to that address explaining that you are trying to find someone but you don’t know their address. Make sure you apologize for their inconvenience. You can’t just make up any old address though, that would get you nowhere. You need to be a bit clever about it.

At this point it’s probably worth checking that you haven’t ever received an email message from this person before. If you have and you can find it then you can simply reply to it and the problem is solved.

Guessing personal email addresses

If you are going to try and guess a personal email address for someone then you first need to guess the domain of the email provider. This is the part of the address that appears after the ‘@’ such as ‘aol.com’ or ‘gmail.com’. If you have a good idea of the domain you can then try guessing various combinations of the persons name with a dot, underscore or hyphen between the first and last name. You can also try nicknames if you happen to know them. Use these combinations to produce a list of addresses that look similar to ‘first.last@ aol.com’. Of course the more common the name the less chance you have of finding the right one.

Guessing work email addresses

Personal addresses are very difficult to guess so you might have better luck trying a corporate email address if you know where the person works. Assuming that the person has an address at work that is of course. First find the web site of the company where the person works and note the domain of the site. It will be something like ‘acmecorporate.com’. Many corporate email systems use a systematic approach to email addresses using combinations of first and last name or first initial and last name. Make a list of possible addresses like you did for the personal address.

Now a lot of these emails will bounce back to you with a message like ‘recipient unknown’ but some of them might get through to real people. If it’s the wrong person and you enclosed a nice message then they might make a little effort to try and find the right recipient for you. This is more likely to happen with corporate addresses. I often get messages in error at work and I simply forward them to the right user.

Use an email service – it can be a lot easier

So now you know how you can find someone’s email address by using a little educated guesswork. I have to tell you though that it’s a long shot at best. The chances of this method working for you are not good.

This is why I always suggest that you try a specialist Email Tracer service first because very often it’s going to be your best chance of finding the address you are looking for.

It’s true that the less you know about someone then the harder it is to find them or to find out information about them but often it isn’t impossible. I’ll bet there have been times when you’ve thought about someone that you once knew well when suddenly you realized that you haven’t seen them for years and you have no idea where they are now or if they are alive or dead. I had been putting off looking for an old friend that I had lost touch with many years ago because I just didn’t believe that I would even be able to find him. Anyway after a couple of well known people died unexpectedy I thought that I would have a go. I thought that if I left it too long then it could be too late. We used to stare in awe and amusement at films where people would open up a suitcase to pull out a telephone handset the size of half a house and put it to their ear. Back then no one could have imagined that we would all have a telephone in our pocket in just a few years time. We were only just getting used to the idea that most people had a telephone in their house but now every member of my family has at least one cell phone in use plus the now antiquated land line in the house.

It’s only a matter of time before the land line is a thing of the past as we come to rely on the cellular phone network more and more. At the time of writing I personally have 2 working cell phones and a handful of perfectly serviceable but not used phones in my drawer. Please don’t ask why because the answer would be embarrassing if I didn’t know that I’m not the only one in this situation by a long shot.

Back in the day you could look up anyone’s phone number in the telephone directory unless they explicitly excluded themselves and went ex directory. The days of the printed telephone book must now be numbered. Not only does it use up significant parts of a rainforest every time a new one is printed but it’s becoming less and less important as you find yourself wanting to find cell phone numbers more often than land line numbers.

Life was much simpler back then. If someone was not at home or able to take a call at work then you could not contact them. It was a simple as that. I don’t know about you but I have lot of trouble trying to explain what life was like back then to my children who can’t imagine a world without personal communication devices. My daughter firmly believes that she could not live without hers.

The telephone directory is becoming obsolete and it’s no good for finding peoples cell phone numbers anyway. So how do you find out someone’s telephone number today? It’s not as if the information that you need to find someone or their cell phone number doesn’t exist because it does. It must exist somewhere or else the network would not function. But where do you go to find it? The best place to start looking is a public records database organized for you online so that you can search for people using your web browser. These web sites have been collecting cell phone numbers and other public information about people for years and it’s all there waiting for you to find it. It can be as easy as entering the name of the person that you are looking to find their phone number.

There’s nothing quite like a funeral to make people decide to start a family earlier rather than later or resolve to find old friends. Yes it happened to me. My father died and my daughter was born 9 months later. funerals are your wake up call to remind you that you are mortal and that noone lives forever. My only regret is that my father never got to see his grandchild.

In some people, funerals instill a burning need to get on with life and your family.
