Stacy wishes that she had done a background check on her boyfriend

Check for active arrest warrants now

Stacy Savill works in IT as a software developer and feels safe and at home with the internet and computers. When she found herself single again after being a couple for so long it was only natural for her to turn to the Internet to help her to find a new boyfriend.

Like so many people these days Stacy leads a busy life and finds it very difficult to meet new people the conventional way. She doesn’t have the time to hang out in bars and take evening classes so she uses the Internet for it’s awesome effectiveness and time saving qualities and it works.

Before long Stacy had found herself a new cyber buddy. They exchanged emails regularly and had long sessions on Messenger getting to know each other. They hit it off well and after a few weeks of virtual meetings they decided to meet in the physical world. They lived reasonably close so arranging to meet wasn’t a problem.

Your first date with your online friend

They met for the first time in a public place in the middle of the day and Stacy made sure that a friend knew where she was going and whom she was meeting. She clearly had her safety in mind and was doing all the right things.

Tom was engaging and charming and always said the right things to Stacy. He bought her flowers and little gifts, which made Stacy feel warm, safe and wanted. The romance went on for six months before Tom finally popped the question and asked Stacy to marry him. Stacy agreed without hesitation.

Why was Stacy waiting at the altar?

Find out who your boyfriend really is

Seven weeks later Stacy found herself waiting at the altar for her beloved but Tom was late. So late that Stacy was worried that he wasn’t going to turn up and sent people to investigate.

It turned out that Tom had been stopped and arrested on his way to the church. He had arrest warrants for child abuse and had broken bail by failing to return to court. And that’s not all, six more warrants came to light later covering everything from traffic offences to domestic violence. Stacy had no idea about Tom’s past or his life when they weren’t together.

Do a background check and don;t leave things to chance

As you can imagine Stacy was devastated by this and couldn’t believe how she’d been taken in so easily. Not to mention the expense of the wedding that never happened. What did she do wrong?

This story is fictitious, the names are disguised and the events described never happened. I made up the story to illustrate a very real problem that so many people find themselves in when they meet new people. If only Stacy had done a simple background check on Tom before she met him for the first time, or at any time after that.

Online background checks

Doing background checks on people using online public records databases is very easy and very affordable. You don’t need to be a computer whiz to do it either. Doing background searches on everyone you meet can help you to sleep well at night and avoid being left at the altar.

I think that Stacy had a narrow escape. If Tom hadn’t been stopped and taken to jail on an arrest warrant on his way to the church it could have been years before she found out and then the story might have been much worse.

Arrest Warrants: How To Avoid A Warrant For Arrest

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

You can’t ignore an existing Arrest Warrant but you can avoid getting new ones

Check your arrest warrants

If you already have an arrest warrant then you can’t avoid it, you must make sure that you know it exists and deal with it. There are a lot of things you can do to avoid getting a warrant in the first place though.

Avoiding Bench Warrants

A Bench Warrant will be issued by a court if you do something wrong during or after your court case. Avoiding getting a Bench Warrant issued is simply a matter of following the courts instructions to you. Making sure that you attend the court when you are told to goes a long way to pleasing the officials.

If you can’t attend then make sure that you have a very good reason and make sure you inform the court that you will be absent as soon as possible. Excuses like you lost the papers with the date on or you forgot the date are unlikely to be good enough.

The court can also issue a bench warrant if you fail to pay a fine or you don’t carry out your community service obligations. The easy way to avoid this is to do your service and pay any fines on time.

Avoiding Arrest Warrants

Arrest Warrants are a little harder to avoid because the police can apply to the court to get one at any time they think you committed a crime. This may be for something as simple as a speeding or other traffic offence or it could be because they have identified you as a suspect in a serious crime. It doesn’t mean that you committed the crime but simply that the police think that you might have done.

You can avoid attracting most arrest warrants by simply obeying the law but if you do get one you should engage a lawyer to represent you as soon as possible.

How to find out if you have an Arrest Warrant

If you have an arrest warrant then it’s in your interest to get a lawyer and hand yourself in as soon as possible. If the court sees that you’ve made an effort to contact the court to sort things out voluntarily it will most likely treat you more favorably than if the police had to seek you out and drag you to court involuntarily.

The most effective way of finding active arrest warrants is to use an online public records database that collects background information including arrest warrants from multiple sources and makes it available to you in a very convenient way. Use one of these databases regularly and you will have a good chance of dealing with a warrant in your own good time before the police come knocking on your door and put you in handcuffs.

Find an arrest warrant quickly, easy and fully confidentially using an online records database from multiple private and public records sources.
